- HELP KEEP FOOD FROM STICKING TO YOUR FRYING PANS
Boil 2 cups of full-strength vinegar in your pan for 10 minutes (repeat every couple of months)
- GET RID OF SMOKE ODOR
Place shallow bowls filled with vinegar (white or cider) around the house or moisten a cloth with vinegar and wave it around.
- STEAM-CLEAN YOUR MICROWAVE
Place a microwave safe bowl filled with 1/4 cup vinegar and 1 cup water inside and set timer for 5 minutes on high. The steam will loosen the sticky bits and then you simply dip a cloth in the vinegar/water solution and wipe everything down.
- REFRESH YOU REFRIGERATOR
You can wash the interior walls and crisper bins and wipe down the top of the fridge with full strength white vinegar. Use 1/2 water 1/2 vinegar for everything else (door gaskets etc.)
- CLEAN YOUR KETTLE
Eliminate lime and mineral deposits by bringing 3 cups of full strength white vinegar to a full boil for 5 minutes and then let it sit overnight. Rinse with cold water the next day.
- CLEAN YOUR COFFEEMAKER
Place 2 cups white vinegar and 1 cup water in the water chamber. Run the brew cycle 3 times, using a fresh coffee filter after each cycle.
- CLEAN YOUR DISHWASHER
To remove built-up soap film, pour 1 cup white vinegar into the bottom or in a bowl on the top rack then run it for a full cycle WITHOUT any dishes in it.
- DISINFECT CUTTING BOARDS
Wipe cutting boards with full strength vinegar after each use (the acid in the vinegar is a good disinfectant). If they need deodorizing as well, sprinkle the board with baking soda first, then spray on the vinegar....it will foam and bubble - leave it for about 10 minutes and then rinse in cold water.

For cleaning glass, stainless steel and plastic surfaces
Fill a spray bottle with 2 parts water, 1 part distilled white vinegar, and a few drops of dishwashing liquid
- MULTIPURPOSE CLEANER #2
For cleaning walls and other painted surfaces
Mix 1/2 cup white vinegar, 1 cup ammonia, and 1/4 cup baking soda in 1 gallon (3.8 litres) of water and then pour this solution into a spray bottle.
